Kolkata, April 29: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited has activated a large-scale, system-driven operational response to manage an unprecedented surge in LPG demand across India, ensuring uninterrupted supply through coordinated logistics, digital integration, and strengthened enforcement mechanisms.
Between April 1 and April 28, 2026, HPCL successfully delivered 349 lakh LPG cylinders nationwide, including 13.8 lakh cylinders on April 28 alone, highlighting the resilience and responsiveness of its distribution network under peak demand conditions.
To support this high-volume delivery system, HPCL deployed 2,06,985 tanker movements during the month, ensuring continuous replenishment across bottling plants and distributor locations. The company has dynamically aligned dispatch operations with real-time consumption patterns to prevent supply gaps across regions.
HPCL’s bottling and distribution infrastructure has also been optimized through faster operational cycles, extended working hours, and improved logistics routing, enabling timely deliveries even during demand spikes.
A key driver of operational efficiency has been the company’s digital-first booking ecosystem, with 99.3% of LPG bookings processed online. This integration ensures immediate demand capture and synchronized backend response across the supply chain, enabling faster fulfillment.
To maintain system integrity and protect consumer access, HPCL has intensified monitoring and enforcement actions. Between March 14 and April 28, the company conducted 6,150 inspections, initiated action against 170 distributors, including 34 suspensions, carried out 664 raids, registered 44 FIRs, and seized 4,155 cylinders.
The company also highlighted continued support for small-scale and vulnerable consumers through Free Trade LPG cylinders, recording sales of over 7.78 lakh 5 kg cylinders and 26,791 2 kg cylinders during the period, catering to migrant workers, small vendors, and low-income households.
HPCL stated that its integrated approach—combining scale, digital intelligence, and operational discipline—has enabled it to absorb demand shocks while ensuring consistent nationwide LPG availability.
