Nationally distinguished urologist, andrologist, uro-oncologist and men’s health expert, brings 45 years of clinical, academic and institutional experience to Pacific OneHealth

New Delhi, Sept 14: Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sood, a nationally distinguished urologist, andrologist, uro-oncologist and men’s health expert with 45 years of experience, has joined Pacific OneHealth as Principal Director – Urology and Vice Chairman, Academics. He will provide clinical and academic leadership across Urology, Andrology and Onco-Urology.

Dr Sood’s association with Pacific OneHealth comes as the organisation continues to strengthen its specialist-led healthcare model through dedicated Centres of Excellence, bringing specialist expertise, advanced diagnostics and coordinated care closer to patients. His appointment will further strengthen Pacific OneHealth’s capabilities in complex urological care, andrology, uro-oncology and men’s health, while contributing to the organisation’s academic and medical education initiatives through the OneHealth Academy.

With an extensive career spanning 45 years of clinical practice, medical education, academic leadership and institutional administration, Dr Sood brings a distinctive combination of expertise to Pacific OneHealth. He has served as the Founder Dean of ABVIMS & Dr RML Hospital and as Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. He has also held senior academic and institutional leadership positions and has served as Consultant Urologist to the President of India and Principal Consultant Urologist to Parliament.

A nationally recognised specialist, Dr Sood’s clinical expertise encompasses endourology, prostate and urinary tract disorders, kidney stones, men’s health, male infertility and sexual medicine, urological and genital cancers, reconstructive urology, laser prostate surgery and penile implantation. His contribution to medicine, medical education and professional leadership has been recognised through several national honours, including the Dr BC Roy National Award, the IMA National Academic Excellence Award and the USI Urology Gold Medal, among other distinctions.

Speaking about his association with Pacific OneHealth, Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sood said, “Men’s health needs to be viewed as a comprehensive health issue rather than through isolated symptoms. Urological, sexual, reproductive and other health concerns can often intersect, and patients benefit when these connections are recognised early and managed through coordinated specialist care. I look forward to contributing to a model that combines clinical expertise, technology and multidisciplinary collaboration to make such care more accessible to patients.”

The need for such an integrated approach is particularly relevant in men’s health, where patients may delay seeking medical attention and present only when symptoms have become persistent or complicated. Conditions such as prostate disorders, erectile dysfunction, male infertility, urinary problems and urological cancers can require expertise across multiple disciplines. A coordinated care pathway can help patients move more efficiently from diagnosis to treatment and follow-up.

Dr Swadeep Srivastava, Co-Founder & President, Pacific OneHealth, said, “Pacific OneHealth is building an ecosystem where specialist expertise is accessible without patients having to navigate a fragmented healthcare journey. Dr Rajeev Sood’s experience, clinical depth and academic leadership will add tremendous strength to our Urology, Andrology and Onco-Urology programme. His association also reinforces our larger vision of creating Centres of Excellence where expertise, technology and multidisciplinary care come together around the patient.”

Pacific OneHealth Hospitals is pioneering India’s specialist-led healthcare model, bridging the healthcare ‘missing middle’ between neighbourhood clinics and tertiary hospitals through technology-enabled Centres of Excellence. It is noteworthy that POH has developed a number of Centres of Excellence in its formative years, with a focus on specialist-led care and integrated clinical pathways.

The organisation currently has healthcare facilities in Lajpat Nagar, Karol Bagh and Dwarka, creating a growing specialist healthcare network across Delhi-NCR. Its Lajpat Nagar facility is a comprehensive healthcare centre with a 24-bed capacity, two operating theatres, five ICU beds, a 64-slice CT scanner, integrated diagnostic services and 24/7 emergency and trauma care.

The addition of Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sood is expected to further strengthen Pacific OneHealth’s focus on Urology, Andrology, Onco-Urology and Men’s Health, while his academic leadership and association with the OneHealth Academy will also contribute to the organisation’s broader focus on medical education, professional development and knowledge exchange.
