Hyderabad, Apr 22: The Premia Academy is proud to announce the premiere of its highly anticipated second production, Sitayan – The Shadow of Flame,” organised and presented by the institution’s dedicated cultural wing, Premia PlayhouseThe recently staged play offers a bold, contemporary reimagining of Sita’s journey, moving beyond traditional narratives to highlight her inner strength, trials, and unwavering spirit. Following the success of its debut season, the cultural wing returns with a narrative designed to challenge historical perspectives, exploring the “Shadow of the Flame” and portraying Sita as a timeless symbol of resilience in a production where her strength speaks louder than words.

The production delves into the untold emotional depth of Sita’s journey, focusing on her resilience as a core narrative pillar. Rather than a standard retelling, the play seeks to bring her unwavering spirit alive through a mesmerising performance that highlights her grace under pressure and her quiet yet formidable power. It is a story of a woman whose resilience defines her legacy, crafted to resonate with modern audiences while staying rooted in the essence of the classic lore. This stage production is a culmination of intense preparation, where students have been mentored by the cultural wing to align their creative potential with the gravity of the themes they portray.

The evening serves as a premier platform for students of The Premia Academy to showcase their artistic growth alongside an elite panel of theatre veterans and cultural icons, led by Chief Guest Padmashri Mohammad Ali Baigthe world-renowned playwright, director, and actor. Joining him as Guests of Honour are Ms Vaishali Bisht, an esteemed theatre practitioner, actor, writer, and director, and Ms Aarti Phatarphekar, a distinguished theatre educator, director, and actor. Their presence not only validates the performers’ hard work but also underscores the significance of this milestone for the institution.
