Fifteen-year–old Kuchipudi dancer Ishanee Khare will present her solo debut recital on April 25 at Epicentre, Apparel House, Gurugram. The performance marks a key milestone in her eight-year training in the classical dance form.
A Class 9 student at Heritage International Xperiential School, Ishanee has been learning under Guru Jyothi Reddy of Jyothi Kalakshetram School of Arts since the age of seven. Her journey began with early exposure to Indian classical music and dance, which led her to choose Kuchipudi for its fluidity and strong emphasis on abhinaya, or expressive storytelling.
Her training has combined online learning with periodic visits to Hyderabad to refine her technique and prepare for her debut. Balancing academics and rigorous practice, Ishanee follows a structured routine, prioritising based on academic and performance demands, with strong support from her family.

She has previously performed at Youth TEDx and at Fursat Ke Pal, Kalagram in Gurugram, a government-run platform for the arts. The recital will be graced by Chief Guest Sujaya Krishnan, President of Venu Charitable Society. Guests of Honour include Sovanabrata Sircar and Nutan Sovan Sircar.
For Ishanee, Kuchipudi represents more than performance. It is a way to engage with and carry forward India’s cultural heritage. Through this recital, she hopes to connect with her peers and inspire greater interest in classical arts.
