Guwahati, April 29: Baazingg Khwatai, an upcoming Hindi feature film, promises a gripping cinematic experience that blends folklore, psychological tension, and ritualistic horror, set against the haunting landscapes of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

The story begins with a chilling discovery severed human heads found under mysterious circumstances in a quiet town. As Officer Tribhuvan delves deeper into the case, the investigation takes a dark turn, uncovering a secretive cult bound by ancient rituals aimed at appeasing a deity known as Baazingg Khwatai. What follows is a gripping journey that transcends conventional crime, venturing into the realms of belief, fear, and forgotten traditions.

At its core, the film explores the complexities of inherited faith and the thin line between devotion and dread, questioning when belief systems begin to shape and control human lives.

Directed by Siddharth Shashta, an alumnus of Film and Television Institute of India, the project brings together a collaborative team of seasoned professionals and emerging talent. The film reflects a shared vision to democratize filmmaking while delivering a deeply immersive narrative.

Speaking about the film, Siddharth Shashta said,

“The film explores how inherited beliefs shape human behaviour, often without us realising where they begin or why they continue.”

The cast features Siddharth Sharma, who brings over two decades of experience across film, television, and theatre. He shared that the layered storytelling and psychological depth drew him to the project.

The film also marks the Bollywood debut of Novkishor Dutta, alongside performances by Anshul Tyagi and Alwin, adding depth and diversity to the narrative.

Extensively shot across the raw and atmospheric terrains of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, the film uses its natural surroundings as a powerful storytelling device, enhancing the sense of mystery and unease.

Baazingg Khwatai is set to premiere on May 7, 2026, at PVR City Centre Guwahati, followed by a nationwide release on May 8, 2026. The film will also see a strong regional rollout across 74 screens in Assam, along with select screenings in Arunachal Pradesh.
