Gurugram, Aug 31: KIIT World School hosted the ‘Kaushal Vikas – Master Trainers Workshop’ in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education and the Gurugram Principals Committee. The one-day workshop brought together Principals and Vice Principals from various schools, with a focus on understanding the new Grade 9 Kaushal Vikas curriculum and strengthening the implementation of skill-based and vocational education in schools.
The workshop provided school leaders with an opportunity to understand skill-based learning through practical and experiential activities. Along with group discussions, participants engaged in activities such as precision farming and apparel illustration. These activities helped demonstrate how vocational and skill-based learning can be integrated into classroom education for Grade 9 students.
The sessions were led by Ms. Alka Singh, Chairperson, GPSC and Principal, Blue Bells School; Dr. Shyda Rana, Consultant, Army Public School, Delhi Cantonment; Ms. Mona Singh, PGT, Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram; and Ms. Priyanka Ahuja, Kaushal Vikas Coordinator, Blue Bells School. The resource persons provided insights into the curriculum structure, assessment process and its implementation at the school level.
Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director, Training and Skill Education, CBSE, addressed the participants virtually. He highlighted the importance of vocational education in preparing students for the changing requirements of the future workplace and enabling them to develop relevant skills alongside academic learning.
Dr. Neelima Kamrah, Principal, KIIT World School, Gurugram, said,

The workshop concluded with the participating school leaders being equipped as official Master Trainers. They will further share the training and knowledge with teachers in their respective schools. The initiative aims to strengthen the adoption of skill-based, competency-focused and vocational learning across schools.
