New York, Aug 26: US stock markets closed higher on Tuesday, supported by a recovery in technology and semiconductor shares and a decline in oil prices and Treasury yields.

Wall Street Ends Higher as Tech Shares Rebound, Oil and Bond Yields Ease

The S&P 500 rose 0.32 per cent to 7,677.28, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.66 per cent to 26,151.30. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also advanced 0.30 per cent to 53,577.40.

Technology stocks provided much of the momentum, helping the Nasdaq recover from recent weakness. Semiconductor shares also staged a rebound, bringing renewed interest to the technology segment.

Falling Treasury yields offered additional support to the market, particularly for growth-focused companies whose valuations can be sensitive to changes in borrowing costs.

Lower oil prices also helped improve market sentiment by easing concerns over energy costs and inflation. The combination of softer oil prices and declining bond yields created a more supportive environment for equities.

Despite the gains, investors remained cautious as they continued to watch economic developments, interest-rate expectations and geopolitical risks. Market participants are also looking ahead to important corporate earnings and economic data that could influence trading in the coming sessions.

Tuesday’s performance gave investors some relief after recent volatility, with all three major US stock indexes finishing in positive territory. The session highlighted continued investor interest in technology shares while showing how movements in oil prices and Treasury yields remain important drivers of market sentiment.
