The 15-Day Hospitality Training that equips TGFDC Trainees for Eco-Tourism Careers concludes

Hyderabad, June 23……The 15-Day Hospitality Training Programme for Telangana Forest Development Corporation Trainees concludes at The National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM), Hyderabad on Monday.
NITHM, under the aegis of the Youth Advancement, Tourism & Culture (YAT&C) Department, Government of Telangana, successfully conducted a 15-day Hospitality Training Programme in Cooking, Front Office Operations, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage Service from 08 June to 22 June 2026. The programme was organized for 32 participants associated with the Deccan Woods & Trails (DWT) initiative of the Telangana Forest Development Corporation (TGFDC).
A Valedictory Ceremony was held at the NITHM campus. Ranjeet Nayak, IFS, Director of Tourism and Executive Director, Telangana Forest Development Corporation, graced the event as the Guest of Honour, along with Prof. V. Venkata Ramana, Director, NITHM, and Mr. Mayur Patnala, Founder and Global CEO, Nirmaan Organization.
Ranjeet Nayak, IFS,said Every eco-tourism destination should create livelihoods for the communities living around it. He shared that the idea for this training programme emerged during discussions with the Director of NITHM at the Telangana Rising Summit, where eco-tourism development was a key topic. He explained that the programme’s objective was to equip local youth, particularly those from tribal communities and forest areas, with practical hospitality skills to create sustainable employment opportunities in eco-tourism destinations.
In his address, Prof. V. Venkata Ramana, Director, NITHM, congratulated all the participants for successfully completing the training programme. He emphasized that the skills acquired during the training would serve as a strong foundation for building successful careers in the hospitality and tourism sector.
The Director also highlighted NITHM’s roadmap for empowering rural and tribal youth through industry-oriented skill development programmes. He stated that NITHM is committed to expanding its outreach by offering more specialised training programmes in hospitality, tourism, eco-tourism, rural tourism, guiding services, entrepreneurship, and digital skills. He assured that additional skilling initiatives would be undertaken in collaboration with government departments, industry partners, and community organisations to enhance employability and livelihood opportunities for rural youth across Telangana.
Mayur Patnala, Founder and Global CEO of Nirmaan Organization, spoke about the organization’s commitment to facilitating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and government programmes. He highlighted that Nirmaan has been working in tribal and rural areas for over 21 years, focusing on skill development, education, livelihoods, and community development.
The programme’s success was attributed to the dedicated efforts of the NITHM faculty members. The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Michelle J. Francis, Assistant Professor (Training & Placements), NITHM.
