Bengaluru, April 29: Mygate, India’s largest gated community technology platform, today announced the launch of Safe Pickup Mode, a new feature designed to strengthen resident privacy and security during cab pickups at residential societies.
The feature has been developed in response to ongoing feedback from residents—particularly women—who expressed concerns about sharing their flat numbers with cab drivers waiting at society gates for entry approvals. Under the earlier process, drivers were required to communicate the resident’s flat number to security personnel, often leading to unintended disclosure of personal information.
With Safe Pickup Mode, this step has been eliminated. Residents can enable the feature while creating a cab pre-approval, allowing verification to be completed solely through the vehicle number. Drivers are now only informed of the tower, ensuring that flat numbers remain private and are not disclosed to either security guards or drivers, while maintaining a seamless and secure entry process.
Commenting on the launch, Abhishek Kumar, Co-founder & CEO, Mygate, said,
“Safety isn’t just about access control—it’s also about protecting personal information in everyday interactions. With Safe Pickup Mode, we’ve addressed a critical friction point by ensuring residents no longer need to share sensitive details like flat numbers with unknown drivers. This feature is simple, intuitive, and built directly from community feedback, reflecting our continued focus on making gated living more secure, private, and user-friendly.”
While the feature was driven by feedback from women residents, it has been designed to benefit all users, reinforcing Mygate’s commitment to building inclusive, privacy-first solutions for modern residential communities.
Mygate is encouraging residents to adopt the feature and share their feedback as the platform continues to enhance user experience and innovate in community living solutions.
