Hyderabad / New Delhi, Sep 03: Mivi, one of India’s trusted, homegrown consumer technology brands, today announced its entry into the smartphone category with Mivi One, marking a significant new chapter in the company’s evolution from a homegrown audio brand into a broader, multi-category consumer technology company.
Built on a decade of experience in end-to-end product development, design, R&D and manufacturing in India, Mivi One marks the brand’s entry into the Smartphone segment. It will be the only phone in the segment to be powered by a Snapdragon 5G chipset, thoughtfully developed keeping Indian consumer use cases in mind. The product brings together Mivi’s strong strategic partnerships between Qualcomm, Flipkart, Google.
For Mivi, the move into smartphones is more than an expansion into a new category. It marks the company’s ambition to take the product and manufacturing capabilities it has built in India into one of the country’s most competitive consumer technology categories – and ultimately build a global technology brand from India.
Mivi has spent the last decade establishing a strong presence across personal and home audio, with products spanning true wireless earbuds, neckbands, headphones, speakers and soundbars. The company has invested significantly in domestic product development, R&D and manufacturing, including its manufacturing ecosystem in Hyderabad.
With Mivi One, the company is now extending this foundation into smartphones, with a focus on delivering performance, design and value for Indian consumers, while building a larger technology portfolio for the years ahead.

Leadership & Partner Perspectives
“The first decade of Mivi was about proving that an Indian company could build, design and manufacture consumer technology for discerning Indian consumers. Smartphones are the natural next steps in that journey. Our goal is to build similar end-to-end capabilities in-house for smartphones. This is the kind of ambition we enter any space with and we are excited to start the journey of building ground up capabilities in the country.
“Mivi One is not just our first smartphone; it is the first expression of our ambition to build a global consumer technology company from India.”— Viswanadh Kandula, Co-founder, Mivi
“The smartphone consumer today is far more discerning. Performance, design, reliability and value are no longer trade-offs, particularly for the young, aspirational Indian consumer. That is the opportunity we see with Mivi One.
“Our ambition is not to enter smartphones simply to add another product category. We want to build a differentiated smartphone business around what Mivi does best—understanding Indian consumers, building products locally and moving with the speed and ambition of a challenger brand. Mivi One is our starting point in a category where we believe we can build meaningful consumer relevance over time.”— Himanshu Tandon, Chief Business Officer, Mivi
“India’s digital consumer is increasingly discovering and embracing homegrown brands that bring differentiated products and strong value propositions to market. Mivi has built meaningful consumer equity through its audio portfolio, and its entry into smartphones is a natural extension of that journey.
“Flipkart has consistently worked to create opportunities for ambitious Indian brands to reach consumers across the country. We are delighted to partner with Mivi on this next chapter and bring Mivi One to consumers through our extensive digital commerce ecosystem and nationwide reach.”— Mukund Kedia, Senior Director, Flipkart
