NEW DELHI, Sep 10: Apple has unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max with a strong focus on advanced camera technology, artificial intelligence, faster performance and improved battery life.
The new iPhone Pro models feature a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, a first for the iPhone. The technology allows the camera to adjust the amount of light entering the lens, giving users greater control over photos in different lighting conditions. New Pro controls also provide more options for photography and video creation.
At the heart of the devices is Apple’s A20 Pro chip, which is designed to deliver faster performance and better power efficiency. Apple has also added an improved thermal-management system to help the phones maintain high performance during demanding tasks such as gaming, video editing and other intensive applications.
Artificial intelligence is another major part of the new iPhone experience. Running on iOS 27, the devices bring Apple Intelligence and Siri AI deeper into everyday smartphone functions. The AI features are designed to understand personal context and assist users while maintaining Apple’s focus on privacy and security.
The iPhone 18 Pro series also gets an 18MP Center Stage front camera, aimed at improving video calls and content creation. Apple has further focused on battery performance, with the iPhone 18 Pro Max offering a major increase in video playback time compared with earlier models.
The new Pro models will be available in black, silver, glacier and burgundy, with storage options ranging from 256GB to 2TB. Pre-orders begin on September 12, while sales start September 18, including in India.
The launch highlights the changing direction of premium smartphone technology, where AI, advanced cameras, powerful processors and battery efficiency are becoming as important as the phone’s design. Apple’s latest Pro models are aimed at users looking for stronger photography, faster performance and smarter AI-powered features in everyday use.
