Ahmedabad& Jaipur, Aug19: Chartered Speed Limited, becomes the first mobility operator to establish complete electric bus coverage across Rajasthan under the PM e-Bus scheme by rolling out electric buses across all eight primary urban nodes in the state.

Chartered Speed Takes Electric Bus Operations to All 8 Cities in Rajasthan Under PM e-Bus Sewa

This is a major scale-up of Chartered Speed’s zero-emission mass transit operations across Rajasthan under the flagship PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme. Through this, the company, which already operates a nationwide fleet of over 2,000 buses, has expanded its total EV operating mix from approximately 10% to 25% thus solidifying its position as a dominant operator of contracted electric mass-transit assets.

The deployment spans Rajasthan’s most populous and economically vital urban corridors, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Bikaner, Ajmer, Udaipur, Bhilwara, and Alwar, offering direct addressability to millions of citizens across the state. As part of the current rollout phase, 24 e-buses have commenced operations across Jaipur and Bhilwara, with an additional 47 buses deployed across Bikaner, Udaipur, Kota, Alwar, Ajmer, and Jodhpur. The expansion builds directly upon Chartered Speed’s earlier secured order of more than 800 buses for the state of Rajasthan.

The scale-up also generates over 1,500 direct skilled jobs across telemetry, fleet management, technical maintenance, and driving operations.

Commenting on the strategic vision behind the expansion, Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director, Chartered Speed Limited, said:

“Mass transit electrification is fundamentally about transforming urban mobility into a bankable, yield-generating asset class. By integrating over 800 e-buses into high-density corridors alongside a captive 22 MW charging backbone, we prove that capital-efficient GCC models can de-risk infrastructure investments, optimize municipal transit, and drive long-term decarbonization at scale.”
