Hyderabad, April 16: Candescent, a leading intelligent digital banking platform based in the United States, today announced the launch of its new technology centre in Hyderabad, reinforcing India’s position as a core engineering and innovation hub for its global operations.

Located at Raheja Mindspace IT Park in Madhapur, the new 30,000 sq. ft. facility has a seating capacity of 260 employees and marks a strategic expansion of Candescent’s footprint in the city. The company will continue to operate from its existing Hyderabad office alongside the new centre through 2027, reflecting both immediate scale and long-term commitment to India.

With a presence across Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, and a workforce of over 800 engineers in India, Candescent positions the country at the heart of its global operations. India-based teams play a critical role in designing, building, and managing key components of the company’s cloud-native digital banking platform, which supports over 1,300 banks and credit unions and serves nearly 30 million users in the United States.

“India plays a foundational role in what we’re building at Candescent. With approximately 75% of our workforce focused on engineering, our teams here are driving critical aspects of our platform—from real-time payments and high-volume systems to AI-powered workflows and resilient infrastructure,” said John Garvey, COO of Candescent. “The work done in Hyderabad directly powers banking experiences for millions of users globally.”

The company is currently in a strong phase of investment and innovation, focusing on advancing its intelligent banking platform. Engineering teams in India are working across the entire digital banking stack, including onboarding, transactions, real-time payments, and branch systems, while leveraging AI to enhance development and operational efficiency.

The new Hyderabad centre is designed to support this growth phase, with planned expansion across engineering, product, data, and platform roles. Candescent is also exploring strategic collaborations with leading engineering institutions, including those within the IIT ecosystem, to strengthen its talent pipeline. In parallel, the company is investing in a robust graduate programme to nurture future-ready talent.

“Our journey in India has always been about building, not supporting, and Hyderabad represents the next phase of that evolution,” said Raghav Pavaman, General Manager and SVP, India Operations, Candescent. “This centre will serve as a hub where engineers take end-to-end ownership, solve complex challenges at scale, and contribute directly to products used by millions worldwide.”

Candescent’s India engineering model emphasizes ownership, architecture-led thinking, and deep collaboration with global teams. Engineers in Hyderabad actively contribute to platform roadmap decisions, shaping long-term product and technology strategy.

As the company continues to expand globally, Hyderabad is set to play an increasingly critical role in driving innovation and defining the future of Candescent’s intelligent digital banking platform.
