New Delhi, June 25: Reinforcing its position as the Capital’s iconic destination for landmark celebrations, Taj Mahal, New Delhi, brought together leading voices from India’s wedding ecosystem in an exclusive dialogue in association with WeddingSutra Engage. Drawing on perspectives from hospitality, fashion, wedding design and travel, the evening centred on the evolution of modern weddings, confluence of cultures and the personalisation of experiences.
Held at Longchamp and anchored in the philosophy of Timeless Weddings, the panel featured Dr. Anmol Ahluwalia, Area Director-Operations and General Manager, Taj Mahal, New Delhi; Vandana Mohan, Founder of The Wedding Design Company; couturier Anju Modi; Shilpa Sharma, Founder of Breakaway; and was moderated by Parthip Thyagarajan, Co-Founder and CEO of WeddingSutra.
The conversation centred on three key shifts shaping luxury weddings in India – personalisation over scale, culinary experience as part of the celebration itself and, legacy as a marker of timelessness. The discussion highlighted Delhi’s growing prominence in the wedding landscape, shaped by its cultural richness, architectural heritage and ability to offer distinctive experiences for both hosts and guests.
Dr. Anmol Ahluwalia, Area Director – Operations & General Manager, Taj Mahal, New Delhi said,
“The most memorable weddings are remembered not only for their grandeur, but for the emotions they evoke and the moments they create – with Trust, Awareness and Joy. At Taj Mahal, New Delhi, we believe timeless luxury lies in this balance of elegance, warmth and personal meaning. Our advantage has always been the range we can offer within one address, from grand ballrooms to intimate lawns and storied restaurants, elevated by bespoke services. Through Timeless Weddings by Taj, our endeavour is to craft celebrations that reflect the individuality of each couple while embodying the warmth, intuition and legacy of Taj hospitality.”
Adding a unique and immersive touch to the evening, guests were invited to a ‘Kitchen Party’—an afternoon tea curation offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the hotel’s culinary world, pairing Indian bites with classic English tea traditions. Set amidst stunning views, the experience featured a live showcase of the hotel’s signature restaurants. House of Ming presented classics including Golden Fried Prawns, Tofu Pancake, Edamame and Cheese Dim Sum, and Mapo Tofu with Jasmine Rice. Varq showcased regional and seasonal favourites such as Panchdhaan Khichda, Varqui Khumb, Guntoor Chikki Paneer with Set Dosa, and Safeeda Gosht Biryani. Rick’s complemented the experience with its signature bar, serving a selection of craft cocktails and mocktails. The experience concluded with an indulgent dessert trolley and chocolate cart, featuring creations such as Quinoa and Orange Kheer, Rasgulla with Coffee Tiramisu, and artisanal chocolate selections.
For close to five decades, the hotel has played host to Timeless Weddings as a custodian of celebrations, creating experiences that feel both grand in scale and personal in spirit.
