April 28: Sennheiser has announced a major firmware upgrade for its Profile Wireless microphone system, with version 5.0.0 introducing Bluetooth connectivity to its one-channel and two-channel setups.
The update enables the Profile Wireless clip-on microphone to connect directly to smartphones, laptops, and tablets, creating a more compact and streamlined recording setup without the need for a receiver.
Simplifying Creator Workflows
The new Bluetooth functionality allows users to pair the clip-on mic via:
- Bluetooth LE Audio (LC3 codec) for improved efficiency and quality
- Bluetooth Classic for broader device compatibility
This enhancement enables creators to eliminate the receiver, freeing up smartphone ports and simplifying mobile recording setups.
Hendrik Millauer, Product Manager, said:
