President Murmu Hosts State Reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 80th Independence Day

 

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu hosted a State Reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan to mark India’s 80th Independence Day, bringing together the country’s top constitutional authorities, Union Ministers, diplomats, eminent personalities and beneficiaries of various government programmes.

Vice President of India Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, former President Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant and Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla were among the distinguished guests who attended the reception.

The event highlighted India’s diverse cultural heritage, with this year’s celebration showcasing the rich traditions, art, culture and cuisine of Chhattisgarh, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

The cultural presentation provided guests an opportunity to experience the distinctive traditions and artistic expressions of the four states, reflecting India’s enduring spirit of unity in diversity.

The participation of beneficiaries of various government programmes also added a people-centric dimension to the reception, bringing together representatives from different sections of society, national leaders, and distinguished guests.

The State Reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan served as a celebration of India’s independence, cultural diversity and shared national identity, while showcasing the country’s vibrant traditions to a distinguished gathering.
