June 17 : Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, participated in the Mega Yamuna Cleanliness Drive held at Vasudev Ghat, Delhi, following a gracious invitation from the  Chief Minister of Delhi. It was a large-scale environmental initiative that aimed at bringing together government representatives, community leaders, students and citizens with a shared vision. The initiative focussed on restoring and preserving the ecological health of the Yamuna River.

Modern Public School Participates in Mega Yamuna Cleanliness Drive Led by Chief Minister of Delhi

The Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta Ji, led the cleanliness initiative, which was attended by Mr. Praveen Khandelwal, Member of Parliament, Chandni Chowk, and Mr Rajkumar Bhatia, MLA, Adarsh Nagar & Vice President, BJP Delhi Pradesh. Ms. Anita Jain, Councillor, Shalimar Bagh, and Mr. Nitesh Rana, District Magistrate, Kotwali, Darya Ganj, were also among the dignitaries who graced the event.

The students of Modern Public School displayed exemplary enthusiasm by actively participating in a clean-up campaign at the riverfront, demonstrating their sense of responsibility towards the environment. Through their participation, the students demonstrated their commitment and dedication by cheerfully volunteering their time and effort while raising awareness about the need to maintain a clean and healthy Yamuna River through slogans and interactions with the general public.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, said,

 “This cleanliness drive is an ongoing campaign. The government will carry out its duties with utmost diligence, and we, as citizens, should fulfil our responsibilities. If the Yamuna is polluted, no deity will be pleased. Maintaining the cleanliness of the Yamuna is a collective responsibility that requires both the government and society to work together. This campaign will not remain limited to a single day. I urge citizens to actively participate in such efforts and contribute towards keeping the Yamuna clean.”

Principal Dr. Alka Kapur, Modern Public School, stated,
