Puri, Sept. 26 (UDN): Renowned sand artist Manas Kumar Sahoo has celebrated India’s latest Asian Games triumph with a special sand animation dedicated to shooters Suruchi Inder Singh and Kamaljeet.
The artwork, created at Sahoo’s studio in Puri, commemorates the duo’s gold-medal-winning performance in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
The sand animation carries a congratulatory message for the champions: “Congratulations champion! Suruchi & Kamaljeet! We are proud of you.”
Sahoo completed the artwork in about an hour, using his distinctive sand-art style to honour the achievement of the Indian shooters.
Expressing his admiration for the duo, Sahoo said their success has brought pride to the country and would serve as an inspiration for aspiring sportspersons across India.
Suruchi and Kamaljeet produced a remarkable performance in the final, registering 484.6 points to clinch the gold medal while also setting a new Asian record in the event.
The Republic of Korea’s Choo Gaeun and Hong Suhyeon secured the silver medal with 478.0 points.
Following the victory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian pair, praising their performance and contribution to India’s campaign at the Asian Games.
Through his latest creation, Sahoo has once again used the medium of sand to celebrate a major sporting achievement and salute India’s champions on the international stage.
