Bhubaneswar, Aug 27: The Puri Srimandir is set to observe Rakhi Purnima on Friday, August 28, with Lord Jagannath and His siblings to be adorned with specially prepared giant Rakhis.
The traditional rituals will be held at the Jagannath Temple as part of the Rakhi Purnima celebrations. The occasion will also include rituals associated with the birth of Lord Balabhadra.
Patara Bisoi servitors are preparing four Rakhis and four Gua Malas for the occasion. The special Rakhis are being prepared as part of the temple’s long-standing traditions.
Rakhi Purnima holds special significance at Srimandir, with the festival marked through traditional rituals and offerings. The giant Rakhis are expected to be one of the highlights of the celebrations.
The preparations at the temple are underway, with servitors completing the arrangements for the sacred rituals. The festival will showcase the rich religious and cultural traditions associated with Lord Jagannath and His siblings.
