Rohit Sharma’s Record-Breaking 92 and Stellar Bowling Lead India to Victory

25th June 2024- India will play their semi-final match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 against England on June 27 at Guyana National Stadium. India has remained undefeated in the tournament, securing their spot in the semi-finals with a remarkable win against Australia.

Victory Over Australia

India lost the toss and was put into bat, but they turned the situation to their advantage. Rohit Sharma led the charge with a spectacular 92 runs off just 41 balls, setting a new record for the fastest 90-plus score in the tournament. Alongside Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya made significant contributions, setting a daunting target of 206 runs for Australia.

Shivam Dube, along with Suryakumar Yadav, formed crucial partnerships that built a strong foundation for India’s innings. Despite Australia’s Josh Hazlewood taking important wickets, India managed to maintain a high run rate.

Australia had a promising start with Travis Head scoring a commendable 76 runs. However, India’s bowlers, including Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh, delivered exceptional spells, taking critical wickets at crucial moments. The highlight of the match was Axar Patel‘s outstanding catch, which turned the tide in India’s favour. With disciplined bowling and agile fielding, India restricted Australia, ensuring their qualification for the semi-finals.

India will now face England on June 27 at the Guyana National Stadium. Given their superior run rate, if rain disrupts the match, India will automatically advance to the finals, becoming the first team to secure a spot in the final due to their performance in the group stages.
