04/07/2024- India commemorates the death anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the revered spiritual leader who passed away on July 4, 1902, at the age of 39. Born Narendranath Dutta in Kolkata on January 12, 1863, Swami Vivekananda left an indelible mark on the world through his teachings and spiritual insights.
Swami Vivekananda is celebrated for introducing the concepts of “Yoga” and “Vedanta” to the Western world, promoting the richness of Indian philosophies globally. He was the chief disciple of Ramakrishna Paramahansa and went on to establish the Ramakrishna Math and the Ramakrishna Mission, institutions that continue to propagate his ideals of service and spiritual enlightenment.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying homage to Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda’s legacy inspires generations, emphasizing the pursuit of knowledge, service to humanity, and the spiritual quest for truth and compassion.
