In Bhadrak, several petrol pumps reportedly ran out of fuel, forcing customers to return without refuelling their vehicles. Fuel outlets near the New Bus Stand, Kadambeda and Post Office Chhak were among those affected by the shortage.

Residents alleged that restrictions had been imposed at some filling stations, with limits fixed on the amount of fuel being sold to customers. Locals expressed concern over the uncertainty surrounding fuel availability and urged the government to ensure uninterrupted supply of petrol and diesel.

In Keonjhar district, long queues of vehicles were witnessed outside fuel stations as people waited for hours to purchase fuel. Reports said two-wheelers were being provided fuel worth only ₹100 to ₹200, while four-wheelers were allowed fuel between ₹500 and ₹1,000.

The shortage also affected the state capital Bhubaneswar, where some petrol pumps reportedly displayed “No Diesel” boards after running out of stock. Commuters faced difficulties due to the sudden scarcity, while panic buying further intensified the situation.

Similar reports of fuel shortage had earlier surfaced from districts including Rourkela, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Sonepur, causing inconvenience to residents and transport operators across the state.
