PR Request- Fire Mock Drill Conducted at Sikka Karnam Greens to Educate the Residents for Emergency Preparedness

The drill was meticulously designed to simulate real-life fire scenarios, ensuring that participants not only understood theoretical protocols but also experienced practical response mechanisms. To begin with, residents were guided on maintaining composure during emergencies – an essential factor that often determines the effectiveness of evacuation and response. Building on this, experts demonstrated how to assess situations quickly, make informed decisions, and assist others in reaching designated safe zones.

Furthermore, the session transitioned into hands-on training, where participants were familiarised with the correct usage of fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment. This practical exposure was complemented by detailed insights into controlling fires at their initial stages, efficiently utilising emergency exits, and executing structured evacuation procedures – elements that collectively form the backbone of effective disaster management.

In addition to resident awareness, special emphasis was placed on training security guards and society staff, equipping them with the skills required for immediate response during emergencies. As a result, the drill ensured that first responders within the society are not only alert but also capable of minimising risks before professional help arrives.

Equally important was the awareness segment, wherein experts highlighted common causes of fire hazards, such as electrical misuse, short circuits, and everyday negligence. Consequently, residents were urged to adhere strictly to safety protocols and conduct regular inspections of electrical systems and firefighting equipment to prevent potential disasters.

Speaking on the occasion, Harvinder Singh Sikka, Chairman of Sikka Group, reiterated that resident safety remains a top priority. He emphasised that while modern amenities enhance lifestyle quality, adherence to safety standards is equally critical. “Our objective is to ensure that every family residing in a Sikka Group community feels secure and well-informed. Moving forward, we will continue to organise such awareness initiatives to reinforce a culture of safety,” he stated.

According to the society management, the primary goal of the mock drill extended beyond mere information dissemination. Instead, it aimed to instil confidence among residents, enabling them to respond to emergencies with clarity, vigilance, and presence of mind. Echoing this sentiment, residents appreciated the initiative and advocated for regular drills, noting that consistent practice is key to effective preparedness in the face of unforeseen situations.
