New Delhi, June 17: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a 50 percent concession in fares on Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation buses for candidates appearing in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test scheduled on June 21.

The announcement was made during a high-level review meeting conducted via video conferencing to assess preparations for the examination across the state.

The Chief Minister stated that approximately 3.5 lakh candidates will appear for the examination across 59 districts of Uttar Pradesh. To facilitate their travel, candidates will be allowed to avail a 50 percent concession on UPSRTC bus fares upon presenting their NEET admit cards.

Recognizing that many candidates may have to travel to other districts to take the examination, the Chief Minister also directed district administrations to make necessary temporary accommodation arrangements for those who do not have suitable lodging facilities.

Emphasizing the importance of conducting the examination in a fair and transparent manner, the Chief Minister directed all district administrations to ensure strict compliance with the guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency . He stressed that every effort must be made to maintain the sanctity, transparency, and sensitivity of the examination process.

The Chief Minister further instructed authorities to closely monitor social media and other platforms for any attempts to spread rumours, misinformation, or misleading content related to the examination. He directed officials to take prompt and effective action against such activities.

The state government remains committed to ensuring a smooth, secure, and candidate-friendly environment for the successful conduct of the NEET examination across Uttar Pradesh.
