The new terminal is expected to increase the airport’s passenger-handling capacity and provide additional facilities as air traffic in Bhubaneswar continues to grow.

The proposed expansion could include additional check-in counters, security facilities, baggage handling systems and passenger areas, helping the airport manage rising demand more efficiently.

Bhubaneswar has emerged as an important gateway for Odisha, supporting tourism, business, investment and connectivity. A larger terminal could further strengthen the city’s position as a major aviation hub in the state.

The project is currently awaiting approval from the Public Investment Board. Details about the terminal’s capacity, design and construction schedule are expected to be announced after the necessary clearances.

The proposed Terminal 3 is expected to play an important role in meeting Bhubaneswar’s future aviation needs and supporting the city’s continued economic growth.
