Chandigarh, July 21 : The 44th Annual General Meeting of the Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides was held at Lok Bhawan in Chandigarh on Monday, where newly appointed office-bearers formally assumed their responsibilities.
The meeting was chaired by Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh, who also serves as the President and Chief Patron of the Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides. During the event, the Governor presented Warrants of Appointment to the newly appointed office-bearers.
Among the key appointments, Pradeep Kaushik, Chairman of GAV International School, Gurugram, was appointed as the State Commissioner, Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides. He formally assumed charge in the presence of senior officials of the organisation.
Following his appointment, Kaushik thanked the Governor, Chief National Commissioner K.K. Khandelwal, and the organisation’s leadership for their confidence. He said the responsibility entrusted to him was significant and that his focus would be on strengthening scouting and guiding activities across Haryana while encouraging values of service, discipline, teamwork and leadership among young people.
“Scouting and guiding provide young people with opportunities to develop character, responsibility and a spirit of service. Our collective effort should be to ensure that more students have access to these experiences through schools and community participation,” Kaushik said.
“He added that efforts would be made to establish a District Bharat Scouts and Guides office in Gurugram to facilitate coordination of activities and broaden participation through schools and educational institutions.
Congratulating the newly appointed State Commissioner, Chief National Commissioner K.K. Khandelwal, a retired IAS officer, said committed leadership is essential for expanding the organisation’s work in youth development and community service. He expressed confidence that the organisation would continue to strengthen its activities across the state”
The annual meeting also outlined the organisation’s future roadmap, with discussions focusing on expanding scouting programmes, increasing volunteer participation, strengthening training initiatives and encouraging greater youth involvement in community service and leadership activities across Haryana.
