03/07/2024- Reports on Wednesday indicated that the ‘Mo Bus’ service in Odisha will be renamed as ‘Ama Bus.’ The service, known for its convenience, will continue to operate with enhancements based on feedback from regular passengers.
The Odisha government plans to increase the number of buses according to local needs, adding 400 e-buses under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme. These e-buses will operate in various cities, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. There is also a strategic plan to run Ama Buses on most routes, with a long-term vision of transitioning the entire fleet to electric buses. Currently, over 400 diesel buses are operating, but this shift to electric buses aims to promote sustainability and efficiency in public transportation.
