Hyderabad, Aug 23: The Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community organised an interfaith seminar on the theme “Role of Women in Society” at the Andhra Christian Theological College on Friday till late evening, under the leadership of Mrs. Zubaida Kaleem Sahiba, President, Mrs. Afroz Banu Sahiba, Vice President, Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Secunderabad
The seminar brought together Christian and Muslim perspectives on the dignity, status and importance of women, with the aim of promoting interfaith harmony, mutual understanding and respect.
Speaking from the Christian perspective, Ms. P. Usharani addressed the topic of the importance and status of women in the light of the teachings of the Bible. She highlighted the valuable role of women in society and the principles concerning their dignity and responsibilities.
From the Muslim perspective, Mrs. Sameera Rizwan delivered a speech titled “Women in Islam.” She explained the status, rights and responsibilities of women in Islam in the light of the Holy Quran and Hadith, highlighting the spiritual and social equality and dignity accorded to women in Islamic teachings.
The seminar provided an opportunity for participants from both faith traditions to exchange views and understand the teachings of Christianity and Islam regarding the role and importance of women in society.
The programme concluded in an atmosphere of mutual respect, religious harmony and fellowship. The organizers expressed their appreciation to all the speakers, participants and guests whose presence contributed to the success of the seminar.
