Mangaluru, July 24: KMC Hospital Mangaluru has launched a Better Bowel Clinic to encourage people with bowel and anal health problems to seek treatment early. Many people delay visiting a doctor because they feel embarrassed, allowing simple conditions to become more painful and difficult to treat.
The clinic is designed to provide a comfortable and confidential environment for people experiencing symptoms such as bleeding during bowel movements, pain or pressure around the anus, itching, swelling or a lump near the anus, unusual discharge, or changes in bowel habits. Doctors advise that these symptoms should not be ignored and should be checked by a specialist.
To make women more comfortable during consultations, female patients will be examined by female specialists. The dedicated consultation service will be available Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, between July 23 and August 8, 2026.
As part of the campaign, patients can also avail special discounts on consultations, diagnostic tests and procedures at the Better Bowel Clinic during the campaign period.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Pramod Kunder, Hospital Director, KMC Hospital Mangaluru, said:
“Many people continue to suffer in silence because they feel uncomfortable talking about bowel problems. As a result, they often delay treatment until the condition becomes more serious. Through the Better Bowel Clinic, we want people to know that these health concerns are common, treatable and nothing to be embarrassed about. By offering dedicated female specialists for women and a patient-friendly environment, we hope more people will seek help early and receive the care they need.”
The Better Bowel Clinic is available at KMC Hospital, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Circle, Mangaluru. Appointments can be booked by calling 1800 102 5555. The hospital encourages anyone with ongoing bowel or anal discomfort to consult a specialist instead of ignoring the symptoms or relying on home remedies.
