Bengaluru, July 9: India is undergoing one of the world’s fastest shifts toward preventive healthcare. People are investing in nutrition, diagnostics, fitness and longevity like never before. Yet the one thing they consume more than anything else, every single day, has remained almost unchanged: the water they drink.

Hydron, together with its recent 100% acquisition of Zoss Water one of India’s pioneers in alkaline ionised wateri s setting out to build India’s functional hydration category and redefine what everyday drinking water can do for health.
Unlike conventional purifiers that stop at making water safe, Hydron engineers advanced alkaline ionised water systems that transform purified drinking water into functional hydration through electrolysis, with no added chemicals. Rather than asking people to adopt one more wellness habit, Hydron upgrades the water they already drink.
Today the portfolio spans residential hydration systems, under-sink solutions, workplace and institutional dispensers, industrial hydration platforms, and India’s first Alkaline Ionised Water ATM network, making functional hydration accessible across homes, businesses and public spaces and Govt projects
Hydron’s business today spans 30 cities, with already 300+ installations, and partnerships across homes / workplaces / institutions.
Hydron believes a category like this must be built on evidence, not just marketing. Before making a single health claim, the company completed six CTRI-registered, ICH-GCP-compliant, human clinical studies involving nearly 600 participants. Together, the studies evaluated the safety of long-term consumption of Hydron’s alkaline ionised water, while demonstrating measurable improvements across digestive wellness, immunity, sleep quality, stress reduction, skin elasticity and anti-ageing markers, as well as significant reduction in alcohol recovery . creating one of India’s most comprehensive clinical research programmes in functional hydration.
“Building on its six completed human clinical studies, Hydron will continue expanding its scientific research into diabetes, oncology support, inflammatory disorders, healthy ageing, livestock productivity and agriculture reinforcing its belief that hydration remains one of the most under-researched variables in preventive health. “
MentorCap Management, a venture studio, founded by Rahul Mehta and Abhay Havaldar, is Co-founder Hydron.
Rahul Mehta, Board Member, Hydron, says: ” Some investments are driven by markets. Others are driven by conviction. My personal journey, shaped by loss, sport, and a deep interest in holistic wellness, has fundamentally changed the way I think about life quality and longevity. It reinforced my belief that the future of healthcare lies in helping people stay healthier for longer, not simply treating illness after it appears. Having first-hand experienced the benefits of functional hydration over the years, I saw in Hydron the opportunity to build an entirely new category around one of life’s most fundamental habits drinking water.”
Aishwarya Vasudevan, CEO , Hydron, says:
“Having spent much of my career in healthcare, I realised we have transformed diagnostics, nutrition, fitness, and longevity, yet the conversation around the water we drink every day has barely evolved beyond purity and safety. I believe better water is one of the greatest untapped opportunities in preventive healthcare. This investment enables us to deepen our scientific research, strengthen our technology and manufacturing capabilities, and make clinically proven functional hydration accessible to many more people.”
Sidharth Sharma, Founder and Water Futurist, says:
“For three generations, my family has believed that water shapes public health. My Father, Dr. B.K. Sharma, helped India rethink safe water. Our mission at Hydron is to help the world rethink what better water can do. That is where his legacy meets modern science.”
Puneet Swaroop, Founder, Zoss Water, says:
“Zoss was founded on the belief that water could become a genuine health intervention, not simply a utility. Joining forces with Hydron lets that vision scale through deeper science, stronger technology and a shared commitment to building India’s functional hydration category.”
To accelerate its next phase of growth, Hydron has secured ₹20 crore in growth capital from a distinguished group of seasoned investors and business builders. Proceeds from this investment have supported the onboarding of Puneet Swaroop, a seasoned entrepreneur and category specialist in the ionised alkaline water space, and the acquisition of his company, 369 Zoss Water Technologies Pvt Ltd. Together, these strengthen Hydron’s supply chain, product capabilities and execution depth. The capital will also be used for product development, scaling manufacturing capabilities, accelerating scientific and clinical research, building AI-enabled customer and product platforms, establishing a best-in-class customer care ecosystem, and scaling commercial operations from the company’s Bengaluru headquarters.
