Bhubaneshwar, Sep 03: HCG Cancer Centre, Cuttack, announced the introduction of the SSI Mantra Robotic Surgical System, a Made-in-India, indigenously developed robotic-assisted surgical platform designed to support surgeons in performing complex, minimally invasive cancer surgeries with enhanced precision, dexterity, and visualization. The launch marks a significant step forward in the delivery of advanced, technology-driven cancer care in Odisha.

In its initial phase, the SSI Mantra platform will support selected robotic-assisted cancer surgeries across key specialties, including uro-oncology, colorectal and gastrointestinal oncology, and gynecologic oncology, along with other appropriately identified procedures. The technology is designed to augment the surgeon’s skill by enhancing precision, visualization, and instrument control during minimally invasive surgery. The hospital emphasized that the decision to proceed with robotic surgery will continue to be made on a case-by-case basis, guided by each patient’s individual cancer type, stage, and overall clinical condition.
