Kochi, April 14: Zee Keralam, one of Kerala’s leading entertainment television channels, is all set to unveil its next big fiction offering, Valyettan, premiering from April 20. Valyettan is Kerala television’s first-ever brother–sister emotional saga, the new series brings to the screen a deeply moving story centered on the extraordinary bond between an elder brother and his four sisters.

Rooted in Kerala’s rich cultural ethos and joint-family traditions, Valyettan is envisioned as Zee Keralam’s next emotional flagship. The show celebrates values of unconditional love, sacrifice, responsibility and sibling devotion highlighting the elder brother as both protector and emotional backbone of the family, standing strong as his sisters navigate their individual life journeys.
At the heart of the narrative is Valyettan, whose life revolves around the well-being of his sisters, often at the cost of his own dreams. Adding emotional depth to the storyline is Dr. Parvathy, a compassionate and strong-willed doctor who shares a long-standing childhood bond with Valyettan. Beneath his steadfast sense of duty and silent sacrifices lies an unspoken love for her, lending a delicate romantic undercurrent to this intense family drama.
Each of the four sisters faces her own struggles—ranging from societal expectations and personal ambitions to emotional conflicts and relationships. Through it all, Valyettan remains their unwavering pillar of strength, even as he grapples with his own dilemmas within a complex joint-family setup.
Exploring a narrative space rarely addressed in Malayalam fiction, Valyettan places the brother–sister relationship at the center of its storytelling, redefining conventional family dramas and offering viewers a refreshing, emotionally resonant experience.
Cast ensemble includes: Jayakrishnan as Valyettan, Veena as Dr. Parvathy, Ranjitha Mukundan as Ratna, Honey as Reshmi, Aleena Sajan, and Vaiga as Kunji Renjini.
Valyettan will air every day at 7:30 PM starting April 20 on Zee Keralam. As part of the revised prime-time line-up, Kudumbashree Sharada will move to 7:00 PM, while Akale will shift to 6:30 PM from April 20 onwards.
