Mumbai, Apr 20: National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) has announced the return of its flagship summer programme, Summer Fiesta 2026, presenting its most expansive edition to date. Designed for young audiences, the festival will run from April 29 to July 19, 2026, with theatre programming extending until August 2.
Bringing together over 35 workshops and 13 curated productions, Summer Fiesta 2026 offers a comprehensive platform for creative exploration across disciplines such as theatre, dance, music, storytelling, stand-up comedy, improv, ventriloquism, debate, and digital content creation. The programme will be hosted across NCPA venues including the Little Theatre, Sea View Room, Experimental Theatre, and Godrej Dance Theatre.
Since its inception in 2010, Summer Fiesta has evolved into a structured initiative that promotes arts education beyond traditional classrooms. This year’s edition reflects a contemporary, multidisciplinary approach, catering to the evolving ways in which young people engage with creative expression.
At the core of the programme is a process-led learning model, where participants move through stages of exploration, rehearsal, and performance. Led by noted practitioners such as Anuvab Pal, Aditya Kashyap, Amey Mehta, Neha Singh, Devpriya Bihani, and Seema Golchha, the workshops blend technical training with collaborative learning. Participants will receive an official certification from the NCPA upon completion.
Complementing the workshops is a curated line-up of 13 plays for children, presented over weekends. Featuring performances in Hindi and English, the productions range from puppetry and musical theatre to contemporary storytelling formats, offering young audiences a diverse and engaging theatrical experience.
The dual structure of participation and viewing creates an integrated ecosystem that not only nurtures creative skills but also fosters a deeper appreciation for the performing arts.
Commenting on the initiative, Bruce Guthrie, Head of Theatre and Films at NCPA, said,
“Summer Fiesta is one of the most important programmes we run. It opens the doors of the NCPA to young people in a meaningful and practical way. The range of workshops this year is particularly strong—there’s real variety, and exceptional value in what’s being offered. For young people with curious imaginations, it’s a brilliant way to spend the summer—learning new skills, collaborating with others, and discovering the joy of performance.”
With its expanded scale and multidisciplinary focus, Summer Fiesta 2026 reinforces the NCPA’s commitment to nurturing creativity, confidence, and cultural engagement among young learners.
Bookings for the programme are now open on BookMyShow.
