Prime Video‘s The Pyramid Scheme has sparked conversations for its relatable take on the allure of quick success and the persuasive personalities that draw people into such worlds. For Shekhar Suman, however, the story resonated for reasons beyond the screen. The veteran actor recently revealed that he once came alarmingly close to becoming part of a similar setup himself, making his connection with the series deeply personal.
Recalling his experience in an MLM Scheme, Shekhar Suman shared, “I will tell you why, because I nearly became a part of this scam. Someone approached me about an MLM, and I had no idea what this whole thing was about. They came with all the big promises, how there’s money involved, how it’s good for society, and I nearly got convinced. But I stopped myself just in the nick of time. I have met those people, and I saw how good they were at talking, how they sway your opinions and take you for a nice garden walk. Experiencing all of that up close and personal, I could instantly relate to the story. I understood how these people operate and how easily others can get pulled in. That’s why I feel it’s also a part of our social responsibility to tell people to be careful and stay away from such things.”
Produced by The Viral Fever, created by Shreyansh Pandey, directed by Ashish R Shukla and Shreyansh Pandey, and written by Akshendra Mishra, The Pyramid Scheme is now streaming exclusively on Prime Video in Hindi across India and over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
