Dancing Tales - Panchatantra, staged by Guru Padma Shri Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant, at Ravindra Bharati!

Hyderabad, July 04: “Dancing Tales – Panchatantra a vibrant and imaginative Bharatanatyam dance-theatre production that beautifully reinterpreted the timeless animal fables of the Panchatantra through a seamless blend of classical and contemporary movement, was staged today at the Ravindra Bharati.

Conceptualised, choreographed, and directed by DrAnanda Shankar Jayant, the 78-minute production combined expressive storytelling, evocative music, narration, striking costumes, and dynamic lighting to create a visually captivating theatrical experience. Performed by a talented ensemble of 20 artistes from Hyderabad and Bengaluru, the production was enriched by inventive Bharatanatyam-based choreography, expressive performances, and engaging stagecraft that kept audiences enthralled from start to finish. Rich in humour, emotion, wit, and visual appeal, Dancing Tales – Panchatantra celebrated the enduring wisdom of India’s storytelling traditions, making them accessible, engaging, and inspiring for audiences of all ages.

The dance theatre production was presented by Shankarananda Kalakshetra with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India under the Scheme ‘Assistance to Cultural Organisations with National Presence’.

Dancing Tales… Panchatantra – brought alive some of the most well-known tales from the Panchatantra, where through parable and allegory, the production talks about friendship, bravery, quick wittedness, foolishness, leadership and freedom.
