Wipro Consumer Care and Wipro Cares Open Applications for Santoor Scholarship Program in Maharashtra

Maharashtra, 07 October 2026: Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting, in association with Wipro Cares, has opened applications for the Santoor Scholarship Program 2026–27 in Maharashtra, continuing its efforts to enable young women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education. In the past year (2025-26), the program having launched its 2nd edition in Maharashtra has supported 500 students.

For the 2026–27 academic year, 500 young women from Maharashtra will be selected for the scholarship. Each selected student will receive financial assistance of ₹30,000 per annum until the completion of her undergraduate program. The assistance can be utilised towards tuition fees, living expenses and other education-related costs.

The Santoor Scholarship Program places particular emphasis on reaching students from disadvantaged communities and districts, where financial and socio-economic constraints can often limit access to higher education.

P.S. Narayan, Global Head – Sustainability and Societal Initiatives, Wipro Limited, said: “We are pleased to launch the 11th edition of the Santoor Scholarship program. We started this initiative, founded on the conviction that bridging the gap between school and college education for girls from disadvantaged communities can empower them in ways that can create  positive outcomes cascading into their future. Our experience since then has strongly reaffirmed the same. We stay strongly committed to what we believe is a critical enabler of an inclusive, just and humane society”

Neeraj Khatri, President, Wipro Consumer Care, India and SAARC Business, Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting, added: “The Santoor Scholarship Program has helped young women overcome barriers to higher education and pursue their aspirations with confidence. We are encouraged by the positive response and impact we have seen in Maharashtra and remain committed to supporting more young women in the state as they continue their educational journeys. Over the past decade, the program has demonstrated the transformative power of education in opening doors to opportunity and independence. We hope it will continue to create brighter futures for young women, their families and their communities.”

Launched in 2016–17 as a joint initiative of Wipro Enterprises Ltd. and Wipro Cares, the Santoor Scholarship Program has supported more than 10,000 young women over the past decade. Of these, over 7,500 students have come from aspirational districts, reflecting the program’s focus on reaching young women from some of the most disadvantaged communities. Over the last ten years, the program has invested more than ₹50 crore in women’s education.

The scholarship supports students pursuing a diverse range of undergraduate disciplines. A minimum of 60% of the scholarships are earmarked for students pursuing liberal arts and pure sciences, while the remaining 40% support students pursuing programs in areas such as technology, engineering and medicine.

Applications for the Santoor Scholarship Program 2026–27 are open until 15th October 2026. Interested applicants can apply online or offline. For further details and to access the application, visit www.santoorscholarships.com.
