Chennai, April 23: Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar (SSN) College of Engineering commemorated its 26th Graduation Day, marking a significant milestone for over 959 graduating students across undergraduate, postgraduate, and management programmes. The ceremony brought together distinguished dignitaries, faculty, students, and their families to celebrate academic excellence, perseverance, and future aspirations.

The ceremony was graced by Mr T.S. Tirumurti, Former Ambassador and Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, New York, and Mr Ram C. Sekar, a Chennai-based engineer, entrepreneur, and Co-Founder of Canfan Private Limited, as Chief Guests. Other dignitaries present included Mr R. Srinivasan, Chairman, SSN Institutions; Mr Sundar Mahalingam, Chairman, SSN Institutions, Shiv Nadar Foundation; Dr Radha S., Principal, SSN College of Engineering, along with heads of departments and senior faculty members.
In the current academic year, a total of 959 students graduated from SSN College of Engineering. Among them, 221 undergraduate students earned their degrees with First Class with Distinction, while 728 students secured First Class. The institution also proudly recognized department rank holders, who demonstrated exceptional academic performance in their respective programs. These top achievers were honoured by the management with gold and silver medals in appreciation of their outstanding accomplishments.
During the ceremony, graduates from disciplines including MBA, Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Biomedical Engineering (BME), and Civil Engineering were conferred degrees. Meritorious students and department rank holders were also honoured with medals in recognition of their academic excellence.
Addressing the students, Mr. T.S. Tirumurti said,
“As you graduate from SSN College of Engineering, you step into an India that is confident, fast-growing, and powered by a dynamic digital ecosystem, and into a world shaped by uncertainty and shifting geopolitics. In this environment, success will demand not just technical excellence but also continuous learning, adaptability, and global awareness. Technology today is deeply intertwined with national security, economic progress, and global power dynamics, making it imperative for young engineers to stay informed and agile. As you pursue your ambitions, remain grounded in the values instilled by your parents and teachers, and use your knowledge to contribute meaningfully to society and nation-building.”
Dr. S. Radha, Principal of SSN College of Engineering, said,
“I am proud to share that our students have once again excelled, with the 2026 batch achieving remarkable success in campus placements, including 227 super dream offers, 143 dream offers and several high-value opportunities, with top packages going up to Rs. 59 lakhs per annum. The top 50 students secured an average package of Rs. 31.5 LPA, reflecting their hard work, skills and dedication. In addition, 581 scholarships worth Rs. 5 crores have been awarded this year to meritorious and deserving students. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the graduates who will be receiving their degree certificates and medals, and I am sure these graduates will make us proud by their impact on society.”
The graduating students took the oath, reaffirming their commitment to professional ethics and societal responsibility, followed by the National Anthem, marking the formal conclusion of the ceremony. The 26th Graduation Day concluded on a celebratory and emotional note, as graduates, their families, and faculty reflected on years of hard work and looked ahead to promising professional journeys.
The highest package offered to the 2025 batch stood at INR 59 Lakh Per Annum (LPA). The average CTC for the top 20% was INR 18.9 LPA, while the overall batch average was INR 11.6 LPA. Over 200 students secured offers with a CTC exceeding INR 10 LPA.
Prominent recruiters included Google, D.E. Shaw, PayPal, Balkan ID, Goldman Sachs, BNY Mellon, Avalara, Togai.AI, Cisco, Citi, NatWest, Barclays, Fidelity, Caterpillar Inc., Daimler, Ashok Leyland, Rocketlane, Verizon, KLA Tencor, M2P Fintech, McDermott, Technip, Gen Digital, Genesys, Everstage and Comcast.
Placements for the 2026 batch are currently underway. So far, 6 students have secured offers with a CTC of INR 59 LPA from D.E. Shaw, while 18 students have secured internship offers from Amazon, with full-time conversion packages valued at INR 47 LPA. The average CTC for the top 20% currently stands at INR 25 LPA.
