Bengaluru, Sep 04: KLAY Preschools and Daycare, India’s early childhood care and education provider, has partnered with Cambridge International Education to offer the Cambridge Early Years Programme at six authorised KLAY centres across three cities in India.

KLAY Partners with Cambridge International to Bring Cambridge Early Years Curriculum to Select Centres

Cambridge Early Years is the start of an exciting educational journey for children aged 3 to 6, helping them develop the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to meet key early milestones and thrive both in and outside of school.

The programme is child-centred and play-based, enabling young learners to grow at their own pace while connecting their learning and development with the world and people around them. It takes a holistic and balanced approach to early education, supporting children’s physical, cognitive, language, social and emotional development.

The Cambridge Early Years approach is built around five key principles: Experience, Active, Balance, Play and Transition. These principles encourage children to draw on experiences from home and their communities, actively participate in their learning, develop across different areas in balance, learn through age-appropriate play, and make a smooth transition to primary school.

At KLAY, the programme will support learning across six key areas: Communication, Language and Literacy; Mathematics; Physical Development; Creative Expression; Personal, Social and Emotional Development; and Understanding the World. The programme is supported by dedicated classroom resources, including learner resources such as Let’s Explore, which connects children’s learning with world discovery, physical health and emotional wellbeing.

Assessment is an integral part of Cambridge Early Years, with children’s progress tracked continuously through observation and evidence gathered during everyday learning and play, rather than through formal examinations. KLAY’s implementation will also incorporate Check Together, a story-based digital assessment tool that supports the understanding of children’s baseline abilities in areas including early literacy, numeracy and emotional development.

The programme will be implemented at KLAY through the Cambridge Engagement Framework of Involve, Share and Seek, enabling parents to remain closely connected to their child’s learning journey. Parents will receive termly Report Cards, year-end Child’s Portfolios and daily updates on learning, meals and naps through the Cuepilot app.

Abhishek Joshi, CEO of KLAY, said:

“At KLAY, we believe the early years lay the foundation for how children learn, think and engage with the world. Our partnership with Cambridge brings together KLAY’s deep expertise in early childhood education with a globally developed early years framework. Cambridge Early Years enables us to offer children a holistic, play-based learning experience that builds knowledge, skills, confidence and curiosity while preparing them for the next stage of their educational journey.”

Jemma Joakim, Head of Early Years and Primary Years at Cambridge, said:

“We are delighted to partner with KLAY to bring Cambridge Early Years to children in India. The programme is designed around the belief that early education should support the whole child through a child-centred and play-based approach. KLAY’s experience in early childhood education, combined with Cambridge’s internationally developed curriculum, resources and approach to assessment, creates a strong foundation for young learners as they begin their educational journey.”

Cambridge Early Years is the first stage of the Cambridge Pathway, extending the Cambridge educational journey to younger learners and creating a clear pathway from age 3 to 19.
By combining Cambridge’s global early years framework with KLAY’s 15-year legacy of serving more than 80,000 families, the partnership aims to provide children with a strong foundation for lifelong learning and prepare them with the confidence, knowledge and skills to thrive in primary school and beyond.
