A new series and a free readers’ Club return influential, long-unavailable works to print as beautifully made, collectible editions — beginning with the story behind the Jazz Age’s original “It Girl.”

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — June 25, 2026 — Histria Books, an independent publisher dedicated to bringing important works of history, literature, and culture to new audiences, today announced the launch of Forgotten Classics, a new series dedicated to returning culturally significant but out-of-print books to readers in premium, carefully crafted editions.
Some books change literature. Others change culture — and Forgotten Classics is built for the second kind.
The inaugural volume is IT by Elinor Glyn, the 1927 novel that introduced the concept of the “It Girl” and helped launch Clara Bow as one of the defining stars of the Jazz Age.
The series revives what its editors call “missing books” — works that shaped how people thought, talked, and lived, then quietly fell out of print while their influence endured. The word “It,” meaning magnetic personal charm, came from a novel. The term “flapper” was shaped by another. “Main Street” entered the language as shorthand for small-town conformity. Each Forgotten Classics edition pairs the original work with a new introduction and historical framing that explains why it mattered then — and why it still does.
Just as important is how these books are made. Every Forgotten Classics volume is carefully designed and produced as a collectible edition, featuring high-quality materials and craftsmanship intended to honor the work it contains. These are books meant to be read, displayed, revisited, and preserved.
At the heart of the launch is the Forgotten Classics Club, a free membership program for readers who want to discover the series as it unfolds. Members receive early access to new editions, exclusive literary essays and historical features, special members-only offers, and behind-the-scenes news from the publishing house. New members immediately receive an original essay, Clara Bow and the Birth of the It Girl, examining how Elinor Glyn’s novel IT helped create one of the defining cultural icons of the Jazz Age.

“Every one of these books left a mark on the culture and then slipped out of reach,” said Kurt Brackob, Director of Histria Books. “Forgotten Classics is our commitment to bringing them back — not as museum pieces or throwaway reprints, but as beautifully made, premium editions worthy of the works inside them. We want readers to feel the quality in their hands, and the Club lets them be part of that rediscovery from the very first title.”
The Forgotten Classics series launches in 2026 with a planned program of new editions released on an ongoing basis. The first volume in the series, IT by Elinor Glyn, is available now, together with a companion book, Clara Bow: My Story. Future volumes include Main Street by Sinclair Lewis, Flaming Youth by Samuel Hopkins Adams, Beggars of Life by Jim Tully, The Waters of Hercules by E. D. Gerard, and Claire Ambler by Booth Tarkington. To explore the series or join the Club, visit HistriaBooks.com/Forgotten-Classics.
