Pune, Aug 21: Dnyaan Prasad Global University, by Dr. D. Y. Patil Group, Pune, has taken a major step towards strengthening India’s automotive cybersecurity talent pipeline by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with SwayamTej Academy for Skills and Knowledge and JagMangal Social Foundation. The MoU was signed during the “Automotive Cybersecurity Talent Development Ecosystem – Leadership & Institutional Engagement Meet,” organised by the Central Institute of Road Transport, Pune, in collaboration with AutoSifu and JagMangal Social Foundation , on Friday, 7 August 2026, at Pune.

The programme brought together senior government dignitaries, industry leaders, automotive cybersecurity experts and academic heads from universities and colleges across the region, all working towards one common goal: building a future-ready workforce for the automotive and connected mobility sector.

A special highlight of the event was a video message from Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, who spoke about the urgent need for skilled manpower in automotive cybersecurity as vehicles become increasingly connected and software-driven.

Representing Dnyaan Prasad Global University, by Dr. D. Y. Patil Group, Pune, at the event were Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohan Waman, Registrar Dr. Ranjit D. Patil, Director, School of Technology & Research Dr. D. G. Bhalke and Dr. Mayur S. Katore, Nodal Officer. Dr. Mohan Waman Sir addressed the gathering and spoke about the university’s commitment to preparing students for emerging technology fields.

As part of the collaboration, Dnyaan Prasad Global University, by Dr. D. Y. Patil Group, Pune, will offer NEP 2020-aligned Academic Credit Courses and Minor Degree Programmes in Automotive Cyber Safety & Security. These programmes are designed to give students hands-on industry exposure, additional academic credits, and stronger employability in one of the fastest growing segments of the automobile industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Somnath P. Patil,  Pro-Chancellor, Dnyaan Prasad Global University, by Dr. D. Y. Patil Group, Pune, said,

Automotive cybersecurity is no longer a niche subject; it is becoming central to how vehicles are designed and driven. Through this MoU, Dnyaan Prasad Global University, by Dr. D. Y. Patil Group, Pune, will give our students a genuine head start in this field, backed by real industry knowledge and mentorship.”

Adding to this, Dr. Rohini S. Patil, Chief Operating Officer, Dnyaan Prasad Global University, by Dr. D. Y. Patil Group, Pune, said,

The MoU is expected to open doors for structured academia-industry engagement, joint training modules, and career pathways for engineering and technology students at Dnyaan Prasad Global University, by Dr. D. Y. Patil Group, Pune, in the years ahead.
