Department of economics, XITE College, Gamharia organizes a two days’ workshop on Data Analysis

Department of Economics, XITE College, Gamharia organized a two-day workshop on “Data Analysis” from 30/12/2023 to 01/12/2023. This workshop was intended to help enhance the current requirement of skills in students and the existing skill gap in the market for data management jobs. The first day of the two-day workshop started with an introductory speech on data analysis taken by Dr. Sanchita Gosh Chowdhary followed by a session on sources of data and methods of data collection by Dr. Radha Mahali. For the closing session of the day, the department had invited an external resource person, Dr. Kumari Anamika, Assistant Professor, Deptt. Of Commerce, The Graduate School College for Women, Jamshedpur. She instructed the students on “Managing Statistical data” and other applications of data in the real world.

The second day of the workshop was a practical session taken by Dr. Rajesh Kumar Rana. This session covered basic knowledge of excel and descriptive and inferential analysis of data using excel.

The workshop gave sufficient exposure to the students on data gathering, recording, presentation, analysis and interpretation of data. It empowered the students with the ability to conduct a short research project in their future academic career.
