Rockville, Md., Aug 28: The American Society of Human Genetics is pleased to announce the newest cohort of the Human Genetics Scholars Initiative, a two-year professional development program designed to support and prepare trainee and early-career researchers for success in human genetics and genomics. Through mentorship, funding, ASHG membership, and participation in two ASHG Annual Meetings, HGSI equips scholars with the resources, networks, and opportunities needed to advance their careers and contribute to the future of the field.
The new cohort reflects ASHG’s continued commitment to developing the next generation of genetics and genomics leaders and fostering a strong, prepared research workforce. By investing in talented researchers from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, HGSI helps build a vibrant community of scientists dedicated to advancing discovery and ensuring that people everywhere realize the benefits of human genetics and genomics research. ASHG congratulates this year’s scholars and looks forward to supporting their growth, leadership, and impact in the years ahead. ASHG thanks Biogen for their support of the 2026 HGSI program.
