West Bengal Dhammika Kai Shito Ryu Karate Association To Host First All-State Police Meet & All-Style Karate Championship 2026

Kolkata, 25 July: The West Bengal Dhammika Kai Shito Ryu Karate Association today officially announced the inaugural 1st AllState Police Meet & All Style Karate Championship 2026. Approved and sanctioned by the Karate India Organisation (KIO), this state-level event will take place on 26th & 27th August, 2026, at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra.

The announcement was made in the presence of Shri Dhrubajyoti De, IPS (Additional Commissioner of Police, Kolkata), Padmashri Dr Bimal Roy (Former Director, Indian Statistical Institute & Chairman, West Bengal Dhammika Kai Shito Ryu Karate Association), Shri Souvik Chakrabarty (Footballer and Tournament Brand Ambassador), Shri Sudipta Bhattacharya athletes from schools, universities and private academies.

The championship features both Kumite (Sparring) and Kata (Form) categories, structured across age brackets including Sub-Junior (up to 13 years), Cadet (14 -15 years), Junior (16-17 years) and Senior (18 years and above). Special competitive segments for Master and Senior coaches (Veteran 40+ group) and team events are also scheduled.

The inauguration ceremony will feature performances by the BSF and Kolkata Police Band, alongside participation from representatives across the judiciary, sports, public administration and media sectors.

“This championship is designed to build discipline, physical resilience and mutual respect between our law enforcement forces and civilian athletes. Bringing together state police, central forces and young practitioners under one roof highlights the true spirit of martial arts.
