WASHINGTON, Sept 9 — A coalition of American aluminum fabricators, extruders and finished-product manufacturers today announced the formation of the American Aluminum Alliance, a new trade association representing the downstream end of the U.S. aluminum value chain — the companies that turn aluminum into fence and gate systems, accessibility ramps and stairs, windows and doors, aerospace and automobile components, boats, trailers, RVs and hundreds of other products made in the United States.
The Alliance was formed around a single observation: the tariff on aluminum is landing on the wrong pound of metal. It falls on the pound American manufacturers buy. It does not fall in equivalent measure on the finished product a foreign competitor ships into the U.S. And it has not produced a single new American pound.
The Alliance is incorporated in Washington, D.C. Its founding board adopted bylaws and elected officers at its first board meeting on August 4, 2026. Founding members operate plants across the country, and employ thousands of American workers. Founding membership remains open, and the Alliance is actively adding manufacturers across additional product segments.
