Kolkata, May 26: Techno Main Salt Lake (under MAKAUT University) celebrated its landmark Silver Jubilee with a grand cultural and commemorative evening at Netaji Indoor Stadium in the presence of distinguished academicians, guests, students, alumni and faculty members.
The special evening marked 25 years of academic excellence, innovation and transformative education, reflecting the institution’s remarkable journey in shaping future leaders and professionals. The event was graced by Guest of Honour, Padmashri Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay, Former Director of Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata along with Mr. Ashida Katsunori, Hon’ble Deputy Consul General of Japan.
“On the auspicious occasion of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Techno Main Salt Lake, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude and blessings to all my dear students and professors. Though I have always been more comfortable working behind the scenes, today I wish to express my sincere hope that, with God’s blessings, this institution will continue its remarkable journey towards becoming one of the finest engineering colleges in the country. Thank you very much,” said Dr Goutam Roychowdhury, Founder Chairman Techno India Group.
The celebration commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting and welcome address, followed by a special speech by Prof Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson, Techno India Group. The evening also featured felicitation of distinguished guests and melodious musical performances by Somlata Acharyya Chowdhury and Soumyajit – Sourendro. Adding a unique dimension to the celebration, Sourendro-Soumyojit specially mentored and trained 25 students of Techno Main Salt Lake, who delivered a memorable performance as a tribute to the institution’s 25-year legacy.
“Today, as we celebrate 25 years of TMSL, we are not just celebrating an institution — we are celebrating dreams, courage, music, education, and the spirit of Bengal itself. Every corridor of TMSL carries stories of transformation — of students who arrived with uncertainty and left with confidence, purpose, and achievement.
Even in moments of personal loss, I stand here with the belief that every student of TMSL is family. A mother may grieve, but she also continues to nurture hope for her children. And that hope lives in each student, teacher, alumnus, and every individual who shaped this extraordinary journey.
From classrooms to global achievements, from Chandrayaan to entrepreneurship, TMSL has shown what passion, dedication, and belief can create. Education is not only about degrees — it is about discovering oneself, pursuing one’s passion, and growing with humanity and joy

The Silver Jubilee celebration concluded with a vote of thanks, commemorating the institution’s glorious legacy and reaffirming its commitment to excellence in education and holistic development.
