Manipal, June 11: T A Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), a constituent of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institute of Eminence Deemed to be University, has announced the appointment of Dr. Debasis Pradhan as its new Director. This appointment marks a major move toward TAPMI‘s ongoing commitment to excellence in academics, increasing its stature globally, becoming a leader in research, and providing management education that is highly relevant to industry.
Dr. Pradhan has an extensive background in academia, with more than 20 years of experience at XLRI in Jamshedpur, where he was a Full Professor of Marketing and held various leadership positions, including Associate Dean (Executive Education) and Chairperson, Marketing Division.
As an outstanding author in Marketing and Consumer Behaviour, Dr. Pradhan has written over 30 articles in leading Tier A and Tier A* journals around the world, such as Psychology & Marketing, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Consumer Affairs, and International Marketing Review, to mention just a few.
His research areas include technology and the well-being of consumers, interaction between consumers and brands and machines, influencer marketing, brand activism, and engagement with consumers — these are all new and emerging areas that will shape how businesses and manage their educational systems throughout the world in years to come.
In addition to his contributions to academia, Dr. Pradhan is currently serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the Management and Labour Studies journal, which is one of the premier journals in management published by Sage Publications and as an Area Editor for the Humanities and Social Sciences Communications journal published by Springer Nature.
He has also delivered invited talks and presented research at numerous prestigious international institutions, including the University of Sydney, Singapore Management University, University of Michigan, London Business School and Johns Hopkins University, over the past several years.
Dr. Debasis Pradhan offers an extensive breadth of academic credentials, experience, academic and research internationally, academic institutions, experience, academic institutions in the industry. He also provides guidance to PhD candidates and has done so to many other candidates who have now assumed faculty positions at top tier colleges and universities such as; Indian Institutes of Management, Indian Institutes of Technology and top tier colleges and universities throughout the world.
Dr. Pradhan will expand TAPMI‘s global collaboration with other institutions and organizations on the international stage, enhance TAPMI‘s research and academic impact and further develop TAPMI‘s academic innovation programs and collaborations.
