Sep 10: Synergy Advanced Metals Limited, formerly Synergy Steels Ltd, has expanded its stainlesssteel long-products portfolio with a new range of colddrawn profiles, including hexagonal, square and flat bars. The new offering is aimed at manufacturers and engineering companies seeking tighter dimensional tolerances, application-specific grades and greater consistency for precision-oriented applications.

The launch comes at a time when domestic stainlesssteel consumption is witnessing strong growth. India consumed 1.282 million tonnes of stainless steel between April and June 2026, registering a 27.5% year-on-year increase, while imports rose 86.7% to 310,400 tonnes during the same period, according to Ministry of Steel data.

SAML’s new colddrawn profile range has been developed to cater to applications where dimensional accuracy and surface quality are critical. The range includes hexagonal bars in sizes of 5–19 mm and square bars from 5–16 mm, available in h9 and h11 tolerances and lengths ranging from 1–6 metres. Flat bars will be available in widths of 5–20 mm, thicknesses of up to 10 mm and lengths of 1–6 metres.

The profiles will be available in a range of stainlesssteel grades, including AISI 410 and 420 martensitic grades, AISI 430 ferritic, AISI 304 and 316 austenitic grades, as well as AISI 201 and 204Cu utility grades. Products can be supplied in colddrawn as well as colddrawn-and-polished variants, with customised specifications available subject to minimum order quantities.

Colddrawn stainlesssteel profiles are widely used in precision-machined components, industrial fasteners, valves, fittings, flanges and engineering assemblies, where closer dimensional control can support machining efficiency, component consistency and application-specific performance.

The expansion strengthens SAML’s position across the stainlesssteel long-products value chain and complements its existing portfolio of stainlesssteel billets, wire rods, bright bars, flats and industrial fasteners. With vertically integrated manufacturing operations, the company is focused on expanding its ability to serve customers requiring specialised stainlesssteel products across engineering and industrial applications.
