Aug 10: SaveSage, India’s fastest-growing platform for maximising credit card and loyalty rewards, announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with IndiGo BluChip, India’s preferred airline, enabling users to earn IndiGo BluChips on credit card and utility bill payments made through the SaveSage app.
Under the partnership, members will earn 1 IndiGo BluChip for every ₹1,000 of credit card and utility bill payments, with the opportunity to earn up to 1,000 IndiGo BluChips every month. The earned IndiGo BluChips can be redeemed for eligible flights and other applicable benefits within the IndiGo BluChips programme. The feature will be available immediately to all SaveSage users.
The launch comes at a time when India’s credit card ecosystem continues to expand, with more than 120 million active cards and over 1 million new cards issued every month. Yet card penetration remains below 6% of the population compared with over 40% in China and more than 70% in the United States, highlighting significant room for growth.
As consumers increasingly manage multiple cards and seek greater value from recurring expenses, credit card bill payments have remained one of the few large monthly transactions that generate no rewards. The partnership addresses this gap by enabling customers to earn IndiGo BluChips on everyday bill payments.
Commenting on the launch, Ashish Lath, Founder & CEO, SaveSage, said,
“Credit card bills are among the largest monthly transactions for millions of Indians, yet until now they have generated practically no rewards. Through this partnership with IndiGo, we’re changing that by helping users turn payments they already make every month into meaningful free flights. As consumers become more focused on maximising value from every transaction, we’re excited to introduce a proposition that makes travel rewards a part of daily financial life.”
The partnership reflects a broader shift towards integrating financial services with travel rewards, opening new ways for consumers to extract value from everyday spending while giving loyalty programmes a way to engage members beyond traditional travel.
