New Delhi, Sep 05: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Railways, has emerged as the Lowest Bidder for an EPC package valued at INR 404.88 crore, including GST, from East Coast Railway for varied railway infrastructure works between Khurda Road and Gangadharpur section in Odisha.
 
The works are being undertaken in connection with the execution of the thirdline works between Nergundi–Barang and Khurda Road–Vizianagaram in Odisha on 385-kilometre Bhadrak–Vizianagaram Section spanning Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
 
The package involved execution of Roadbed, Minor Bridges, Major Bridges RUBs/LHS, Building Works, Supply of Ballast, P. Way Linking and Other Allied Works including Utility Shifting of S&T and Electrification Works such as General Service Works including Power Supply Arrangements, Shifting and Modification of HT and LT Lines Between Khurda Road – Gangadharpur.
 
The latest L1 further strengthens RVNL’s role in the development of critical railway infrastructure and capacity enhancement along the Bhadrak–Vizianagaram corridor. RVNL is also executing a separate ₹967.93-crore EPC contract for construction of four important bridges under the same project in this corridor.
 
The construction of additional Railway lines on this Bhadrak–Vizianagaram Section will increase capacity along this critical rail corridor, enable the smoother and more efficient movement of passenger and freight traffic, and alleviate congestion on the existing network. It will also improve connectivity between the eastern and southern regions, support expanding economic and industrial activity, and enhance the overall operational efficiency and resilience of the railway network.
