17.07/2024- Royal Enfield has introduced the Guerrilla 450 in India, priced between ₹2.39 lakh and ₹2.54 lakh. This marks the second model based on the Sherpa 450 platform, following the Himalayan. The Guerrilla 450 is designed as a retro roadster, featuring a stripped-down aesthetic with distinct colour options across three variants: Flash (Brava Blue and Yellow Ribbon), Dash (Gold Dip and Playa Black), and Analog (Smoke and Playa Black).
The motorcycle aims to offer a fun riding experience suitable for daily use, boasting a retro roadster design with elements like a round LED headlight, tear-drop fuel tank, and minimal bodywork. It is powered by a 452 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine delivering 39.47 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch, along with a ride-by-wire system.
Built on a steel tubular frame using the engine as a stressed member, the Guerrilla 450 features a 43 mm telescopic fork at the front and a linkage-type mono-shock at the rear, providing 140 mm and 150 mm of travel, respectively. It rides on alloy wheels fitted with a 120/70-17 front tyre and a 160/60-17 rear tyre. Braking duties are handled by a 310 mm front disc with twin-piston callipers and a 270 mm rear disc.
Weighing 185 kg (kerb weight), the motorcycle offers a ground clearance of 169 mm and a seat height of 780 mm, making it suitable for urban environments. Bookings for the Guerrilla 450 have commenced, with deliveries scheduled to begin in August 2024.
